Web3, blockchain, cryptocurrencies, non-fungible tokens, the metaverse, autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing… oh my! These cutting edge technologies are achieving popular acceptance and with people spending more time and money with these technologies, specifically crypto and NFTs, opportunities for malicious actors and consequences for their victims are at an all-time high. Compound the acceptance of crypto and NFTs with advances in fundamental technologies like quantum computing, autonomous technology, and artificial intelligence, and the Internet landscape is changing rapidly, increasing cybersecurity risk for everyone. As a follow on to my presentation at WSSW 2021 on cybersecurity in a post-pandemic world, I will speak about cybersecurity risks in this new landscape and what you can do to protect yourselves and your companies.
